Digital Video Recorder (DVR)
The Digital Video Recorder (DVR) and Network Digital Video Recorder (nDVR) will in time become a basic service for users.
In essence it is an extension of the old VHS technology, but adhering to today’s digital media rights standards and technologies.
DVR & nDVR records live TV to a hard drive for consumption at a later time. Also known as Timeshift TV, DVR records content to a Set-top-box, while nDVR records to a network storage drive located with the service providers head end.
The implementation of DVR varies between geographical regions, as digital media rights are different between markets. The implementation may, therefore, require some professional service work for each operator. DVR hinges on finding suitable STBs with hard disk drive and with which Zignal 2.0 will integrate.
The implementation of nDVR varies between geographical regions, as digital media rights are different between markets.
