Industria Wins 2006 Red Herring 100 Europe Award

Company recognised among EMEA's 100 most promising firms, at prestigious magazine ceremony

May 7, 2006 -
Global investment and innovation publication Red Herring today announced that leading broadband solutions provider and systems integrator Industria is a recipient of this year's Red Herring 100 Europe, a selection of the 100 private companies based in the EMEA region that play a leading role in innovation and technology.

An annual highlight on the industry calendar, the awards this year are based on a rigorous evaluation by Red Herring's editorial staff of more than 700 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development.

Speaking at the awards ceremony, Red Herring editor-in-chief Joel Dreyfuss commented, "Market obstacles remain but our list shows that great companies are being created in Europe."

Industria received its award for the company's innovative suite of software solutions for broadband providers that bring new levels of integration, automation and speed to triple-play and converged service operators.

One of the first offerings of their kind based on next-generation TM Forum architecture, Industria solutions hinge on an open standards-based workflow processing engine. Incorporating a range of cutting-edge features, including true multimedia/multiplatform applications, converged systems and a design that supports leveraged investment in order to maximise the use of legacy systems, they provide digital service operators with full billing strategy management.

Industria software solutions are currently being used to drive Dublin-based Magnet Networks, one of Europe 's most advanced IPTV and triple-play providers, whose offering incorporates a groundbreaking IPTV service delivery platform developed by Zignal, a wholly owned Industria subsidiary, which delivers a spectacular range of revenue-generating services while providing unprecedented levels of interactivity to both operator and subscriber alike.

Implemented by Industria from scratch since the autumn of 2004, Magnet's network currently reaches a potential base of some 700,000 subscribers located in several of Ireland 's major centres, including Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Galway and Waterford.

"We're honoured and delighted to receive this award for our broadband software solutions, which we believe to be among the most effective and far-reaching on the market today," says Industria CEO Gudjon Mar Gudjonsson.

"Developed throughout from a business perspective, they enable operators to leverage investment in their legacy systems whilst simultaneously supporting the adoption of new technologies."

Red Herring's lists of top private companies are an important part of the magazine's tradition of identifying new and innovative technology companies and entrepreneurs, with companies like Google, eBay and Skype spotted in their early days by the magazine's editors as those that would change the way people live and work.

Gudjon Mar Gudjonsson will deliver a presentation on the company and its products at 2.30pm on May 9th, at Venture Market Europe 2006, an event being staged by Red Herring at the Westin Hotel, Paris.
