Industria Launches Groundbreaking Zignal 2.0 - a Faster, Friendlier and More Cost Effective IPTV Platform

IPTV World Forum - Industria, a leading IPTV solutions provider, today announced the launch of Zignal 2.0, a groundbreaking and unprecedented IPTV middleware platform, designed to bridge the gap between the TV user's expectations and the solutions currently available in the IPTV marketplace.

The Zignal 2.0 user interface uses device agnostic technology, providing the fastest technology available for set-top boxes, PCs and mobile phones. Already deployed on all three screens, Zignal makes the best use of its small memory-footprint, while maintaining a user interface which meets user expectations.

Today, with the advent of better rendering technologies and through the use of open standards, we are able to offer Zignal 2.0 as the user interface of choice for any display driven device using rendering technologies like SVG, Flash, Silverlight and HTML."

Fully extendable

Based on a modular design, Zignal 2.0 consists of a new application framework allowing dynamic extension and module loading. It also supports widgets, enabling users to easily select new features and services. The new frameworkalso offers connection to home automation services and content discovery through the DLNA/UPnP interoperability technology. Zignal 2.0 also allows operators to provide their services to a range of user-devices from a single server.

Third party developers are now able to develop extensions to the system,using the Zignal SDK. These can than be deployed to a single user, specificnetwork zones or the whole customer base.

Building business value

With Zignal 2.0, easy customization of user interface functionality and appearance allows service providers to enhance their brand building. Furthermore, Zignal supports Virtual Operators, where service providers can operate more than one type of service on the same network. This means that Virtual Operators can re-purpose content and services to deliver different user experience and content over different networks to any user device, all from the same robust server.

Zignal comes well tied into the eco-space, with applications from many ofthe leading solution providers pre-integrated with the system.
